ANYWAY sorry i just rambled and didn't answer your question at all. god on high do i want bear Drawn and Quartered in the streets. it's the way he realized almost immediately the truth of what was going on with his wish and at every single turn chose to keep real!nikki trapped beneath wish!nikki to suit his wants—then only put an end to it because he was scared for his life. like the gears started turning that very first night. he calls to amend his wish, not cancel it, even knowing she's suffering, because he's being inconvenienced. something that stuck out to me too on my second watch that didn't settle as deeply on the first was that during the ~honeymoon period~ bear literally gets ANNOYED with her. she can't watch the movie because she's compelled to focus on him, and he just repeatedly turns her face away; she's playing around while they're (she's??) making breakfast, and he's visibly irritated; she wants extra kisses and attention, and he's disinterested. THAT QUICKLY. because it's not nikki. but it can't be nikki. it's just a thing in nikki's body. which was sick for him, at first, because he wanted nikki's body so badly. but then she's Annoying and that's A Crime. he's a fascinating, wretched creature. i want to squash him.
