i kind of like the idea of jason abandoning having a last name when he's older, or maybe just using his middle name as a substitute for it when he needs to.
having the same last name as your abusive father is not something most people enjoy. i can't recall jason ever changing his last name to wayne in canon, so i can definitely see it being a situation of him wanting to change it to wayne after being adopted by bruce, but the topic never really coming up because neither knew how to mention it out of worry of how the other would react.
i do kind of like the idea of bruce maybe putting “todd-wayne” or something similar to it on jason's grave. then after jason comes back, i can see him definitely not wanting to be associated with either name and simply dropping them both.
or maybe he even takes up catherine's maiden name, although i don't believe there's ever been one mentioned.
