Speaking of black #Fenders... I'm all #Tele'ed out for today so here is a #guitar I almost never photograph. 1988 #Fender #AmericanStandard #Stratocaster. This is a really nice guitar and unlike many #FMI #Strats of the late 80s this one is 100% stock and original (we basically mutilated all our #guitars back then with #Hotrail #pickups and graphite nuts bla bla bla...) In the late 80s an American Standard Stratocaster was one of the hippest guitars a kid could own. This one cost me $500 back in '92 or '93. I bought it used for my brother (but why I did that and how it became mine 22 years later is a story for another day!) So why don't I photograph it much? Two reasons: 1) it's not that exciting when compared to other guitars in my collection, and 2) it is seriously really extremely difficult to take a good photo of a black guitar! If the guitar is exposed correctly, the surrounding area is usually overexposed. Expose the surround area properly and the guitar is underexposed. But this shot worked out nicely, so here it is!
