I am sitting here in my bed after a hot sunny day soaking in the feelings, vibes, and memories I made this weekend at All Good music festival. All Good in itself was mind-blowing, but that is not what I'm writing about. I'm writing about my all time favorite band Sound Tribe Sector 9. Now let me tell you, I have a very broad taste of music so it takes a lot for me to declare a band my "all-time-favorite"...but for the last 5 or so years, I have taken a journey into the music of STS9, deeper into the soul of it and really explored it...and I can't explain it, but their music makes me feel like nothing else I listen to. A lot of people don't get it, they see them at festivals and think "oh, they're just another electronic band", which yes, at festivals, they are just another electronic band, and they tend to play a lot of "festival" songs, but if you start from their very first album and listen to each and every album, every album has a different sound. There are a lot of bands that try to do this and don't succeed, and every time STS9 does it, they hit it on the head each time. They provide their fans with a unique type of music. STS9 has the power to expel such different feelings in every note they play, at least in my opinion, and no other band has that kind of positive energy to literally pull that much feeling out of me just through a melody. Before I am judged, I just want to say that I love all kinds of genres of music, and those are feeling-provoking also, but in a different kind of way. I just thought I would share the magic of music with everyone, because it is a very euphoric feeling, and over the weekend at All Good, I remembered why I fell in love with this amazing band. I couldn't help but stand there and almost tear up when they played Circus or Simulator. I got the experience of my first Tribe show at Rothbury 2008 when they played for 4.5 HOURS! I had no idea that every show I would be wishing that one would happen again! Haha. That night I fell in love. I fell in love with this new type of music, new sounds, melodies, sights, senses... music is amazingly powerful over the soul, and I just thought I would prove that :) That is all the rambling I will do for now, I just wanted to share.
