Painting from live model. 1hour into the process and the result after 3 hours. Painting from live model is always a challenge. I try to analyse my work the day after the session and figure out what went well and what I can improve. So what went well for me was to create a structure without details, just focusing on form, and like I saw in Sargent’s portraits, a lot of soft edges thougout the image. What could be better is that I tend to get lazy after a while when it comes to color mixing. It’s vital to keep observing and mix colors conciously instead of using what’s on the pallette.
