It’s not the kind of thanksgivings he fast grown accustom too back in New York. But it is...a Thanksgiving. One that’s full of too much sun and not enough Gatorade. The kind of day that means its just another perfect one on Oahu. Granted at the moment he can’t see it for the proverbial trees. Driving the opposing line backer back by inches before he’s breaking loose. Blocking Juniors path as Steve hot foots it to find someone open. And the one that is? Luka will never admit he stops breathing for a second. Watching that ball sail through the air, and....sail....and...

It’s good. 

           “Run, Be’d!”

And run the little woman does. Bare feet seeming to quite literally skirt the grass like a gazele. Danny and Tani on her heels and Junior quickly becomes not important. Luka twisting around Creek, and becoming an awkward imitation of a giraffe to clear Nahele face planting in front of him. And then its simply a case of out pacing Tani and Danny. Steve’s encouraging cheers growing louder the closer Beth gets to the in zone. One she crosses a breath before Tani manages to get in reach of her. 

And that was game.

Both hands coming out in his excitement. Not thinking twice about lifting Beth right off those impossibly quick feet of hers. Cheers and teasing jeers combined. A firm kiss to her cheek once he’s let her down again. And they’ll be no small bit of pride getting to see that ball sitting on their mantle for the next year. Though one thing that won’t be mentioned? The twenty buck Junior slides him after the game.

                   She’s faster than she looks.

          “Aye, she be o’lot o’d’ings d’an she looks.”

A grin framed wink that’s meant to leave the younger seal to make his own assumptions. Luka pocketing the twenty to be covertly placed into the wishes jar at her clinic later. For now though Beth is sought out again and carried like the queen that she is all the way back to the car. Another kiss stolen from her lips this time, as she cradles her trophy.

          “We should bedazzle i’. Bling up nex’ years game.”
