it’s kinda funny how my experience of being alienkin goes from:
“hehe i’m such a silly alien! X3 i love stargazing and hanging out with my friends and making kandi and eating sweet! :D” to “i’m far from my home and i will never return. the universe has abandoned me on this planet full of humans who don’t understand me and shame me for being different. this prison of flesh and bone isn’t mine.”
it seems like all the alienkins online are fully alien and remember details about their past lives or what their bodies were like or what planet they were from or their society. and I'm like my bad sorry guys I'm mixed alien and human. at some point aliens had kids with humans and im the descendent of their offspring and now i feel like i have nothing besides not belonging anywhere. and I know nothing because it's not like it's a past life thing I'm just like this. it just makes me sad bc mfs out here know what planet they're from and are learning their language and shit. and im like sorry guys. i don't even know what percentage alien i am.
i was trying to explain transgenderism to my (slightly confused but generally supportive) grandmother and she said
"well the thing i don't get [deadname]. is the standard it sets. i mean, if i can call myself a man, even if i'm biologically female, does that mean i can call myself a martian too?"
and some would try and explain their way out of it and give a whole long explanation of gender vs other things and the exceptions and nuances and i just went
"yes nonna. yes you literally can."
dont be afraid to be your own cryptid. take inspiration from the big greats if you want but you are an abomination in your own right and deserve to respect surrounding being your own cryptid. have many eyes, no eyes, tentacles, animalistic features, alien features, connections to the stars, connections to the woods, connections to the water; find yourself and celebrate it you horrible thing. you shrieking creature in the night. you are loved.
