Oh no.
I had a good idea for a video game.
It's called Alien Dog.
Should be a Sims-like but it could work as a visual novel.
You play a regular human from Earth. After you create your character, you get "adopted" as a pet for an extraterrestrial family.
Your old life is left behind completely. You get to decide how you feel about that.
They are smarter than you the same way humans are smarter than dogs. Much of their technology is incomprehensible to you. Your biology has some natural advantages over theirs and vice versa.
Your new family is a mix of personalities. Some treat you better than others. How you react to them is up to you. Will you be a good human or a bad human?
Events and storylines include:
Will you help the child's social emotional development? Even if they're mean to you at first?
You can escape and get lost.
You notice a scary predator while on a walk, will you protect your alien?
They will materialize a musical instrument to keep you stimulated. Maybe you did always want to learn the cello?
There are other humans in the neighborhood.
To them, pranking you is cute; to you it's cosmic horror.
Do you want to return home, or is this a better life?
