Some neurotypical asshat: 93% of communication is non-verbal! :)
Me, an autism (TM): Well, shit.
My neutral expression is to furrow my brows and frown a bit, sometimes I don't even realize I'm doing it. Also, no matter my emotion, when there's someone in the room I smile. Are these autism things? // As a child I would cry if water was splashed on me, even a drop, even though I loved swimming. Would this count as sensory issues? // Iiaat to not know why you're crying? I get frustrated with myself for crying bc I feel like there's no reason to // -herobrine asks
Not being aware of your expression could be an autism thing but I also think it’s just a people thing because everyone I know (autistic or not) has a neutral or “resting” face that they’re normally not aware of. Although, depending on the situation, it could also be related to mismatched facial expressions/emotions which is an autism thing (smiling when sad or frowning when happy for example)
The smiling at people in the room no matter your emotion could be an internal rule you’ve come up with for how to socialize. In which case, it would be an autism thing.
Crying if water splashes on you could be a sensory thing if you don’t like some sensory aspect of water and that’s why you cried. It could also, again, be internal rules about not liking water on you. For example, I’ve always loved water. But I have an internal rule about it not getting on my face if I’m anywhere but the shower and get upset if my face gets wet say, at the pool. Both of these reasons would be autism things.
Not knowing why you’re crying could be due to alexithymia, which many autistic people experience. So, yes it would be an autism thing.

tuafw your school starts and you're so overwhelmed and stressed and almost cry because of it and then you get confused about your sexuality again because of Drama that happened and it's so hard to know how you feel because you don't remember how you feel at other times and you can't be sure what emotion you feel or why -💫🦇
What do you mean when you say you don't get crushes like normal people?
it’s something my friends tell me a lot haha. i’m not sure, its mostly because i find it hard to work out what my feelings are
i think a good example of this is a crush i had on a girl in year 11. i switched guitar groups so i could spend more time with her, and she made me smile and !!!! whenever she messaged me. i wanted to kiss her i guess but i also didnt. like i was more comfortable in having a crush than the idea of actually going out with her. so i found comfort when our contact and my crush on her inevitably sizzled out. shes actually recently started a band and im like !!! for her bc shes amazingly talented (we used to perform together) and hella cute
also i just. dont get crushes the same as all my friends do. i just. dont. im not sure how to explain it. we reckon im some sort of a-spec but i dont rly wanna put a label on it and im not a fan of the SAM, i’ve just accepted im slightly weird in this aspect
also possibly because of my Rules. i wont go out with someone whose friendship i highly value, because it’s not worth losing them when it inevitably ends. i wont go out with someone who i have not met in a going out type context (eg. its okay to go out with someone i met somewhere and we started talking/flirting and thats our only real point of contact at first, but it’s not okay to go out with someone in your friendship group or who is friends with multiple of your friends)
i did break my rules for going out with my ex-gf, and that ended really badly so. yknow. my current plan of action with this crush is to keep being his friend and half hope something happens but also half hope nothing ever happens because i love him as a friend as well

Tfw you FINALLY find a term for your weird I-can't-words thing, and immediately struggle to express it (It's anomic aphasia and maybe alexithymia as well!!! Now to keep those words in my mind as a Thing...) 意味

expertise, delight and reminisce
ask meme for rphs
expertise: what experiences have you had that would make good guides?
delight: what do you wish you’d see more of in the tags?
reminisce: what is your most cherished memory of being an rph?
