I look up at the sound of his voice and can’t help but feel a little bit better when he takes my hand and my eyes meet his. His name is Alex, and he’s one of the few people I have left.

The sea of bodies was moving in time to the beat, all eyes followed the thin boy on stage as he worked the crowd. He was singing his lungs out, jumping around, and really putting his heart into this performance.

Love is hard; it takes understanding and commitment from both sides of the equation. It takes dedication and for people to be willing to look past each other’s flaws and make the most out of what they have. Zack never thought he would fall so hard and fast for someone whom he barely knew, let alone someone who seemed too far away from his reach to be true and even possible. Alex knew he shouldn’t, knew that it was impossible and that it would never work out. He knew that she wasn’t for him and that they could never be together without problems rising at every corner and at every turn. They were both far too in love and far too deep in to try and get out. Now it was time to face their decisions and go the distance.

I still remember it as if it were yesterday, instead of four years ago. Alex, before you left, you were my world.

There always comes a person from time to time that is able to make us say that we would give everything for them. We say that we would give them the world, our life; but how much are we really willing to give for that single person? How long are we willing to wait for them? Would it be months, years, possibly a few days? Would we give up friendships, relationships, and family? For Alex Gaskarth, Zack Merrick, Paige Huff and Megan Black, they were willing to give it their all.

A fool, young, naive; that is what he was. He thought he had it all: fame, money, friends, the love of his life. But he was foolish to fall too hard for her, young enough to believe he had found the right person, naive to think that she would stick around.

With the winter break coming closer every day, Alexis is starting to panic. She needs to finish five finals before she’s free to leave – but does she want to? There’s no doubt that she has to, but things might be very different for her when she knocks on Alex’s door.
