I just finished eddie begins on my rewatch and here are the maddie and eddie interactions so far:
Season 2, Dosed, Eddie asks where something (plates, I think?) are and Maddie tells him
Season 3, the one where we meet Albert, Eddie tells Albert why he enlisted, Maddie says "Eddie, don't encourage him to go to war!"
And we can't forget season 9, the auction, "I'll venmo you later"

but i have like 85% of the world building done. in my head.
Albert was such a fun and sweet character, man. he ran from Seoul to meet a brother he had never talked to or actually met before, blindly trusting that they'll be fine because they're brothers and because he believed Chim was good and cool. wanted to get along with all of Chim's friends because he's never had a group like this before, his idea of a family was more rigid and smaller, and seeing the family his brother had found made him want to find it too. became roommates with Buck, huffed and puffed about it teasingly but always was a solid friend who actually liked Buck. opened up to Maddie and became her friend too when she wanted to talk, never taking sides in any conflict and instead trying to have both sides' back. tried to follow his brother's career path, gave his best, and then followed something new when he knew he needed a change. he had his own desire for his family to reconcile and he was stubborn in his own way and he was loving in every way he could try too. buckley-han family had two pairs of siblings and it will always be special to me

Not to be 9-1-1 on main again (lol) but I'm rewatching the series with bestie, and man everyone was at peak in season 4.
Buck got to be ANGRY when people were dicks to him, yet the urge to apologize to his shitty parents and Maddie when he did nothing wrong was right there'! Thereby explaining literally his entire character.
Buck and Eddie are believable as friends! Eddie tells Buck he has nothing to apologize for! He's a supportive bestie! If this had stayed Eddie, I could have ended up shipping this, dammit.
CHIMNEY BELOVED in seasons 3 and 4, I am so fucking fond of you! THIS relationship with Buck and Maddie is the one you should have HAD! I wish this had stayed your character and less of the "lol Buck is stupid and useless"
ALBERT BELOVED. Tommy is great and so was the bisexual awakening, but you should have kicked down that door! Your friendship is so precious to me.
Buckley parents, you deserve no redemption. :( Here's the thing about when people wnat me to have empathy for these assholes. The show tries to frame their shitty actions about Buck as grief but if it had merely been about grief, they would have loved him from the start. He would have had a fucking baby box. They never loved him. HE was a tool. And I don't give a shit about how much they loved their dying son - bringing a child into the world that you can't love and keeping it just to use as a tool... makes you an unfucking forgivable asshole. No redemption.
(And no. Athena's actions in sason 9 were nothing like the Buckleys.)
