i see the gumm-gumm’s being a human tribe in the forest and the “savage” thing is a stereotype made by the underground humans(aka the heartstone trolls) and mundane humans(like steve or jim),

i wanted to base their culture around aztec and mongolian, in a way, but give them their own human culture. i didn’t like how the gumm-gumms are like one dimensional, i wanted them to be more complex, yk?

i tried to make bular look beautiful and cute because he literally is but also he bat shit crazy.
