You honestly thought you were a good writer, but deep inside you felt like something was missing in your stories. All the negative critics were getting to you and you didnât know what to do anymore. For some reason you felt that you werenât good enough to entertain your readers and you couldnât help but feel like a failure not worthy of writing. You wanted your readers to feel like as if they were in the stories, you wanted to show them how grateful you were to have such an amazing audience. But now you just wanted to hide away from everyone and hoped that no one would find you.
Depression was slowly setting in and each day would get worst. It had gotten to the point that you wouldnât even leave your home, instead you would check online to see the reviews of other fellow writers. What you noticed was that many of the writers were rude and ungrateful to their readers and it sickened you.Â
You slammed your laptop and sat in fetal position as you stare at a couple of books you had written. Slowly grabbing one you stare at the cover which read âDandelionsâ. This was the first story you had written, but it wasnât youâre best work yet this book meant so much to you.
âI should of never became a writer in the first placeâ You mumbled to yourself before you got up from your seat and grabbed your jacket that laid on your bed. You take the same book with you and make youâre way outside of your house. The sky was a dark gray color and the wind was slightly cold but not to the point that you needed a scarf. Holding your book close against your chest you make your way toward the nearby park .Once you arrived you noticed the park was empty which didnât bother you. You sit down on an empty bench and place the book beside you. It was only a matter of minutes before you felt tears streaming down your cheeks.
âWhat Iâm going to do? Whatâs the point of writing if no one enjoys any of my books?â You said through the tears before covering your face with your hands.
âObviously you should to continue writingâ You hear a deep voice say beside you. You slowly bring your face up and notice a man who seemed to be in his 20s. He had very pale skin and black hair with side bangs that reached to his chin and turned white on the tips. His cloths were rather strange, he was wearing a long, black coat that past his knees and black fitting pants as well as black dress shoes
âW-W-Who are you?â You managed to say
âWho I am doesnât matterâ He said as he looked through your book. You sat in silence as you listened to the sound of the pages being turned. You had your gaze on the ground trying you avoid any eye contact with the man but it wasnât until you heard him cough you brought your gaze toward him.
âI donât really understand why youâre complaining about your writing. You seem to be good at itâ He said as he throws the book at you.
âThe book actually got my attention, so quit your cryingâ He said sternly as he got closer.
âIt doesnât matter anymore......I stopped writing a long time ago...beside no one liked my writings.....â You said as you held the book close you your chest. Thats when you hear him scoff at your responseÂ
âYou write because you love to write. You decided to become a writer to create stories that only come from your imagination and creativity. You didnât become a writer to be obligated to make all readers satisfied. There will always be readers who will criticize your work, but there will also be readers who will always admire your work and appreciate your effort.....â He said as he dug his hands into the coatâs pockets.Â
âI-I guess your right.....I did became a writer because I loved reading and writing.....its just the negativity of those who hate my work....â You couldnât finish your sentence because you felt tears start of sting your eyes.
âThose are the people you should never satisfy. If you give up writing youâre basically giving what those people want. So instead of crying and hiding from the world stand up for yourself and show them you became a writer because your love for writing is stronger than their hatredâ He said as he brought his gaze toward you. You couldnât help but  smile at his encourage, it was a bit of a harsh way to say it but he was right.
âI guess youâre right....I never saw it that way....maybe I should continue writing....or even create a new work to keep my mind occupy!â You quickly stand up and run back home but stop on your track.
âWait! Here keep this! I want you to have this book. This book means a lot to me but I feel like you should have it. Think of it as a thank you gift. Thank you for knocking some sense into me, I really needed itâ You said before running back home.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Akutagawa looked at you with widen eyes as you handed him the book, He watched as you ran back home and disappeared into the distance. A light blush appeared across his face and he quickly covered his face with the book.Â
âWhat hell is wrong with meâ Akutagawa exclaimed as he sat down on the bench where you were just sitting minutes ago.Â
âI should of kept my mouth shut.....jeezâ He said before bringing his eyes toward the book you had just given him. He traced the beautiful cursive title with his fingers and sighed.
âDandelionsâ.......this is probably one of your best worksâ Akutagawa said softly as he looked through the pages. The story was basically a love story which was weird since he was never interested in that type of stuff, but the way you wrote it is what got his attention. You were so passionate in your stories, it felt as if your were in the story itself. Â
âCanât wait to see your next work....Iâll be waitingâ Akutagawa said before standing up from the bench and making his way back home. He looks up to the sky and a couple of droplets of rain hit his face. He then takes the book and places inside his coat not wanting it to get wet. With that being done he makes his way back to port mafia with one thing on his mind.....you and when he would get the chance to meet you again.
