I’m really excited about how the show portrays Akasha and Lestat.
My read of it is that Akasha wants own and control Lestat because he represents everything evil in men. And by doing that she can somehow hold and control the patriarchy that hurt her so greatly.
But it is false. Lestat is not the evil man he presented himself to be in his rockstar persona. Akasha is again blinding herself from the truth because it doesn’t serve her, she is again using abusive and oppressive methods to force her will. She cannot manage to escape her own cycle of abuse, she keeps perpetuating it no matter how good her intentions might be
And again Lestat is held hostage by a powerful monster that doesn’t see him and wishes to own and control him for their own ends.
Lestat spends most of TVL being like “I love war!! I want death and destruction and kill all humans! War! War! War! War!” And then in QOTD when he finally gets his war he’s like “I’m scared and puking and crying and scared and I want Louis-“
Now that show Lestat is more mature but also actually has atrocities under his belt… I’m so interested to see how this plays out!!

It's so funny to me how people are complaining about Louis and Lestats' toxic queer relationship but romanticising Akasha and Lestats' fling over one rose petal bath scene, when she abuses Lestat a lot. The Straights are at it again.
