I believe we can sort-of understand about why toy shops aren't as big as before and I believe it's for the greater good, partly due to thrifting helping the environment and toy production takes a lot of plastic in the first place. I do miss mainline physical toy shopping myself, and still feel for those who do very much, but all what I just said before about understanding the environment and plastic.

You can still miss the stuff you enjoyed from years ago, like the mainline toy shopping, but I think it's also good that we don't put too much pressure on ourselves and understand that we have the environment and planet. This is the only world we got.

Plus, thrift shopping often has some good stuff, even Thomas and Friends, Dora, Toy Story, Star Wars, Disney, and more.
