(as you can see, I got m legy out for the ol razzledazzle) Hi, I’m Lapis, a chicanx lesbian based in the Bay Area, and I’m currently trying to raise funds for my organization in the San Francisco AIDS Walk, which is on July 16th 2017. I feel very proud of my organization; their women’s shelter, A Woman’s Place, is the only 24-hour supportive residential program which offers an 18-month Transitional Housing treatment program for HIV+ women, specifically focusing on black trans women in San Francisco. Our program is comprehensive, including behavioral health, harm reduction, self-care, case management and more.

However, this year, the AIDS Walk Foundation has taken longer than usual to put up its team sites, meaning that I’m currently in a bind to scramble towards my personal goals and our team goals with very little time to do campaigning. I’m currently positioned at my organization as a Resource Developer through Americorps VISTA, giving a year of my life in service to help the most marginalized homeless men and women in San Francisco. I am hoping that by reaching out to y’all on tumblr that you can offer a gift in support of my year of service. I am interested in getting involved in the non-profit sector as an ongoing profession, so your contributions not only provide for a worthy cause, but to help me build a steady career for my foreseeable future.
