The Lewis personal AI sponsorship... I'm glad the comments on his posts are for the most part respectfully cooking him over it. It's certainly not a cancellable offence and about as ridiculous and vaguely hypocritical as almost all F1 sponsorships are, but he certainly picked an issue right in the lime light for a lot of normal people and...took a hard swing at the hornets nest.

it does serve as our kinda yearly reminder that ALL these drivers are ignorant to the normal day to day, and should never be put on a pedestal of perfect because none of them will live up to it. You can be the best guy on the grid, the one actively putting his name to really important things that SHOULD be celebrated...and you can also still be blind enough to take ai/crypto/stock money because it just seems like a decent pay check. If it's not money it's a dumb comment or the bad joke because you're so cripplingly isolated by wealth you have no idea what it means to most people. Its exhausting, but impossible to avoid.

Lewis is more likely thank most to learn from it, and I hope that he does check his comments and maybe feel a bit embarrassed, but WE all gotta take off the rose tinted glasses sometimes and thoughtfully critique these things (without going overboard, cause that also tends to happen when lewis is involved)

Of course your going to cheat when you had no other option but to take out 100k in debt for a degree you find out 2 years in you don't even like n can't switch, delay, or pace out without taking on another 100k. They figure: "well, if I'm going to be paying debt for the rest of my life for something I don't want I might as well have something that can get me in the door and pray I think of a way to skirt the fact I don't know as much as I should later."

This is the logical cause and effect of turning schools into places people have to survive first, succeed second. Of 18y olds taking on loans for higher educations they're not even sure they want but are told by every adult they're gonna need, and then tacking on interest so high they have no chance of paying it back without scaming the system. Of mandating degrees just to have a shot at living, not even always comfortably.

I'M NOT ADVOCATING FOR CHEATING OR AI USE IN SCHOOL. There is value in knowing your stuff. You should know your stuff. You aren't stupid. Education is important even when it feels useless in the face of lackluster support n capital, but everyone needs to stop acting like they don't understand why its become such a prevalent problem with our collective no time, no energy, no money, no bitches*, no community, no healthcare, no gun control, work to live even at school, few jobs, inflated ass economy life style.

I gave this thing the classic fox chicken grain puzzle but with a simple twist to make it impossible: the fox will also eat the grain if left alone. The program responded exactly how I expected it to: it saw the rough outline of the problem and instantly spat out the answer as fast as you could if you'd googled it. No time to "think" needed, this is a standard, frequent question, so just give the known answer.

Except, of course, it was wrong. Step 1 fails with the fox eating the grain while I'm on the other side of the river with a chicken. I pointed this out and it apologized and spat out a new answer, this time telling me to take the fox across first. I pointed out that now the chicken eats the grain and this cycle began to repeat. For a time it picked one of the three items at random to take across and regurgitated the whole thing with minor changes, only to take in my reply and "fix" with a different item. As my answers got shorter, we eventually hit a point where it would respond to me saying that the fox would eat the grain with an apologetic, mildly rephrased re-issue of the failed sequence where the fox eats the grain.

Pointing out the obvious loop didn't break us out. Changing my responses and clarifying information didn't break us out. The only thing that stopped it from giving me wrong answers was telling it in no uncertain terms that there was no right answer. Only then did it realize/admit that there was no solution.

When I asked why it refused to give an "unsatisfactory" answer until practically told to do so, it spat out the token "as an AI language model still in development blah blah blah" and ignored my question.

This is a trend I've noticed in stories published about AI. Not only is it bad at reading the question and coming to conclusions (read: since it can't do that. It's an input/output function that predicts an acceptable answer and displays it), but for some reason it would rather give 100s of wrong answers than to say there is no right answer or even that it just doesn't know. I think back to that story of the lawyer who used ChatGPT like Google and asked it if there were previous cases that backed up his argument, and instead of saying that none exist (because none exist), it just started writing fake legal documents cause "yes" was predicted to be a more favorable outcome than "no".

These tools were created by humans with desires, incentives, priorities, biases, values, etc. For reasons they will never tell me, they made a robot that would rather lie to you than say "I don't know".

Bungou Stray Dogs recent arc is one hell of a ride. Like seriously tho, I stopped reading it last year on March and when I picked it up last week, I seriously didnt expect what a trainwreck it is (especially towards my feelings like wtf I was expecting some dorky things NOT SOME FREAKING ANGST AASDFGHJKL)

Let’s get back to the point.

Okay so in the recent Dog Hunt arc (is that what this arc being called because i seriously dont know), the ADA members were framed for murders, thanks to Gogol and Fyodor- you guys are evil. I dont believe Gogol is dead. - and now turn fugitive, running away from the gov elite force of ability users.

A lot of shit happened.  like A LOT. I dont want to summarize it because it will be too long when I just want to talk about Lucy's whereabouts.

So, where is Lucy Maud Montgomery and why do I make it sound like it is a big deal when she’s just a minor character?

First of all. let’s look at her ability: Anne of Abyssal Red.

So as we all know, Lucy’s ability allows her to create an alternate reality known as "Anne's Room”. She can imprisoned and hide in that room and people outside will never know of its existence unless they themselves are inside the room. She can activate her ability whenever and wherever she wants. In the manga, she saves Atsushi from drowning by bringing him inside to Anne’s room. In Cannibalism arc, she helped the ADA to hide Fukuzawa from the mafia by putting him inside her room.

Why do I point these all out is because there’s a POSSIBILITY that she may have hide Kunikida after he blown himself up.  

bet you’re all are saying that this is ridiculous. Like there’s no reasons why Lucy should be there when first, she’s not an ADA member and 2nd, she probably wont know that this shit is happening so it doesnt make sense.

Unless…..

Dazai has somewhat expect this would happened and ask Lucy for help before he deliberately get caught.

So hear me out despite this sounds utterly ridiculous.

After cannibalism arc, we hardly see Lucy made any appearances at all. She just disappear when she literally works at the café downstairs. And with all those shits happening, isn’t it weird that she didn’t idk try to find Atsushi? Like she’s really not in the picture at all (or maybe she’s not that important so her appearance in this arc is unnecessary which I think given her ability and working very close with the agency seems off)

Let’s go back to a month before.

The warning that Ranpo received must have  spread among the people of ADA. And knowing Dazai, do you think he would just brush it off,especially when he knows Fyodor deliberately get himself caught?  Dazai probably had made certain preparations for The Day to come. Dazai knows that the agency will take on that big case despite the threat. He probably would have predicted that Ranpo would definitely oppose of taking the case, which he did and launched his own investigation.

He may have created numerous situations of what could have happened, until he realized that someone is following him then he knows what it is.

So before getting himself caught. He laid out a plan. I’m not sure if he reached out to Natsume-sensei or not but theres a possibility that he may have met with Katai (you know that scene where all the screens display instructing Kyouka to enable the water sprinkler? That’s probably Katai’s doing, I guess).

And the next person he met was, Lucy.

Considering Lucy’s ability to hide people in her room, Dazai would probably anticipated the following events that follow. Plus, he probably did a research on the Hound Dogs unit.

So here’s my guess:

Dazai met up with Lucy and informed her that something big will happen to the agency soon. He then instructed Lucy to keep tabs on the agency and help them if necessary. Lucy would probably reluctant to help them but I think Dazai would probably pull the trick by dragging Atsushi topic into the “persuasion” which then let Lucy to agree on helping Dazai with his plan.

So after Dazai’s was caught. Lucy followed the ADA to the mansion. She probably kept her distance from anyone to notice.  And when things started to go south, she probably went searching for them until she saw them fighting with the 2 people from the Hound Dogs (probably monitoring from Anne’s room because I believe she’s aware of the other person’s ability to sense someone).

She was relieved when Port Mafia came to the rescue. But when Kunikida jumped from the helicopter and blew himself up with the sword guy, I think this is where Lucy use her ability.

But when? During the explosion? Or during the impact? As we all know the sword guy survived. But Kunikida is missing. Nobody knows his status. Is he dead? If yes, where are his remains? Is he alive? That’s impossible he blew himself up with a grenade.

So I came to a conclusion that Kunikida is indeed survived, but heavily injured. And in the midst of chaos, Lucy used her power to hide Kunikida in her room.

Tbh, this is actually make sense because first of all the Hound Dogs does not know if the ADA has friends that are willing to help them. In this case, it’s Lucy and Chuuya (Chuuya is not a friend tho). They were fixated on capturing the ADA that it doesn’t occur to them that the ADA would receive a helping hand.

Second, I don’t think Lucy existence is important to Fyodor. Basically all of these events are dancing along with Fyodor’s tune. He considered all multiple possibilities that would have happened and create multiple plans to overturn those possibilities. Basically he and Dazai are scary bunch creature that u don’t want to mess with. But I think he overlook Lucy and her ability, the same way he dont know about Natsume sensei. So Dazai make use of this towards his advantage because he knows Fyodor doesn’t know about Lucy.

So yeah you can say Lucy has some role in this arc, despite it could be a small role but at least it will make me feel assured that Kunikida is still alive.

But this could be proven wrong coz like I said, it’s just a speculation. Maybe Fyodor knows about Lucy and how Dazai gonna use her. Who knows, I cant read these two characters. they are so hard to predict and how the hell did these two communicate to their subordinate outside of prison?  Morse Code? Cryptic Languages that the prison guard couldn’t notice but if u listen closely is actually an order??
