"Seb!" Vincent ran to Sebastian the second he spotted him outside the general store, clinging to one of his skinny pant legs. "Are you gonna come to my birthday party this weekend? Mom's gonna make a cake, and Sam's gonna be there, and Jas, and Miss Penny, and we're gonna go to the park!" (i'm sorry seb ur honorary little bro misses u)

Aw, fuck, that’s right. Vincent’s birthday was coming up.
Stellar timing, Sam.
At least Sebastian was careful to keep his ire off his face in front of the young boy. His problem was with the blond, never his little brother. The poor kid hadn’t done anything wrong, and he probably didn’t understand why he’d stopped showing up at his house. Nor could he... really explain it, either.
Not going to his party would crush him. He wouldn’t stand for that. He... wasn’t looking forward to being in the same vicinity as Sam, wasn’t interested in talking, but—it wouldn’t be fair to punish Vincent just because of their fight.
So, he did his best to put on a smile just for him.
“Yeah, of course I will. It sounds like it’ll be fun.” A gentle ruffle of his hair. “I bet you’re real excited for your big day, huh?”
