One of the many Agrilus species jewel beetles - and it really is many, since Agrilus is the biggest genus in taxonomy - over 3000 described species.
Like other jewel beetles, Agrilus larvae are borers, and the adults, if they feed at all, feed on leaves. The NE Asian species Agrilus planipennis, or Emerald ash borer, is highly invasive and destructive in Europe and North America.

The horribly invasive and destructive, albeit pretty, Agrilus planipennis or the Emerald Ash Borer (EAB). This invasive pest from Asia is slowly decimating all of our Ash and Fringe Trees in the US. Some signs and symptoms of an infected Ash are shoots of the tree growing straight from the trunk, major dieback of the crown, and D shaped exit holes.
