Started this beautiful Sunday reppin' Fisk and attempting to go meet the Fisk team at the HBCU Battle of the Brains! That took me to Huston Tillotson's campus where I was able to see the bricks of people I know and love πΊοΈβ€οΈ. It was a beautiful site to walk in and see so many HBCUs represented in one space. A Good Day
Today I met a friend of mine in person after 8 years of getting to know her! Surreal right?
We have always had this immeasurable bond that cannot be explained. It all started with a tweet of Boys Over Flowers and our enthusiastic selves just happened to non-stop talk over it. We didn't try to become friends, we just did.
On and off for 8 years, our friendship began and grew through K-dramas, nourished through difficult conversations as fan girls of K-pop groups, blossomed as a GOT7 family, and still continues to this day.
Even as we met, me being a host, tried to read her and understand what she would like to do during her time here. And things just unfolded for the both of us. We saw a cafe on our way and found the 2 last spots, (it was a cozy, and a super busy cafe at that).
We ordered eggs benedict and mushroom spaghetti, each of our choice, and shared it. And goddamn were those so delicious. Then we simply went around for a walk, talked a lot, clicked pictures, and simply cherished the day that was. It was wonderful. The click we found online, existed even more offline! :)
The exchange of stories, histories, the present, struggles, wins, all of it came so naturally and effortlessly, each moment felt like catching up on the 8 years! Loved every minute of it!
