kinda late to this. but you'll defs be with at least one other person on your first shift. its usually the same amount of people they'd normally have on shift + you. first shifts are usually either behind the scenes training (emergency preparedness, safety protocols, code words) or getting you familiar with navigating the store/the register. you'll have someone with you and in my experience customers dont really mind if you tell them 'sorry im new. let me just ask quick'
