despite  the  clutches  of  talon  weakening  the  grip  maintained  so  intensively  against  amélie  ,  her  only  form  of  relief  comes  in  the  sights  of  gerard  .  it’s  not  gerard  ,  not truly  ,  but  as  nice  and  pristine  as  arsène  seemed  ,  she  preferred  the  name  she  had  known  for  years  .  but  how  is  one  meant  to  love  the  shell  of  another’s  former  self  ?  despite  the  abuse  she  endured  from  talon  ,  the  abuse  that  repressed  all  her  emotion  inward  ,  she  still  felt  ,  enduring  the  suffering  of  watching  the  former  love  of  her  life  lose  to  the  thing  he  sought  to  destroy  .  no  matter  ,  though  .

perhaps  all  things  would  solve  themselves  .  the  universe  had  a  funny  way  of  working  out  like  that  .  for  now  ,  yet  ,  she  grimaced  and  refrained  and   suppressed  .  romance  shouldn’t  get  in  the  way  of  work  anyways  ...  right  ?

right  ...  ?

nevermore  ,  she  operates  for  talon  as  diligently  as  she  can  ,  regardless  of  the  rapid  unraveling  of  the  malice  amélie  has  come  to  embody  .  talon  does  not  need  to  know  ,  she  reminds  herself  ,  pressing  onward  despite  any  doubts  .  would  it  really  hurt  to  try  ,  though  ?  

"There you go, you're doing great!" Anette cheered as her and a few assistants helped a young elephant walk through the small pool. Anette had helped rescue the elephant that was injured during an omnic attack. It took hours of surgery and a few close calls but the elephant was now recovering and working on physical therapy.

"Good girl, you can play for a bit before we go back inside." Anette nodded to her assistants and let them go on a break while she watched over the elephant spray herself with water. She couldn't help but snicker when the elephant tried to spray a few people walking by but most noticed and gave them a wide berth. She soon noticed someone that didn't notice the elephant's playing and watched as the elephant aimed a spray of water at them.

Kiss / Marry / Kill

Evfra folded his arms over each other in front of his chest, twitching his nose a little at the options. He blinked once.

"Easy," he announced. "Marry Jaal, kiss Vidal, kill Sloane. That'll be one threat taken care of."

Zayn was almost hit by the candy bar as he didn't see it coming, catching it in the last moment although probably only because he was lucky.

Huh, getting hit by candy would have sucked. Maybe not as much as his pay but...

Still, it would have.

"Sure, why not. I could use a drink. I am done working in five minutes."

Which meant he was almost done with guard duty. Oh damn, it sucked too! Just standing in front of that silly entrance for hours without anything to do really. Besides checking badges and ID's of people coming through. Nobody had time to chat. Though some nice nurse had brought him a coffee earlier because she felt sorry for him.

Maybe there was still hope for this organization.

- it was an interesting apolgy, but accepted regardless. it was not everyday, someone apologized for such.

the gift did turn amusing, however when the gift of choice turned out to be a bottle of champagne.

either the friend knew more than your average omnophobe; or had a habit of giving champagne.
