âWhile I feel like raising the age limit to 18 would be overall better for womenâs gymnastics. I feel like it wonât happen because big programs like Russia and China would be adamantly against it. I mean with this change, half of Russiaâs gold winning Olympic team wouldnât have even been at the Olympics. And the 1st Olympic gold achieved by China in womenâs gymnastics since 2012 was done by a 16 year old. And while I donât feel like the US would be as against it, it would mean changing NCAA to be more like menâs gymnastics to adapt to the age raise so women can train elite skills while in college and not have to choose between being elite or going to college.â
âAnd just when raising the age limit to 17 seemed like a good idea, Valieva becomes a senior at only 14-years-of-age. Wish her all the best, this is about the system, not about her.â
âEteri, stop screwing up Valievaâs career, okay! Stop overwhelming her with this. Russian Senior Nats. I get, but fully-going to senior, when possible, Eteri just reached a new low of only caring about the medals, not about her students.â
âKAMILA VALIEVA SHOULD NOT BE GOING SENIOR AT 14... SHEâLL BE EATEN ALIVE, ESPECIALLY BY KOSTORNAIA, WHO DIDNâT GO SENIOR AT 14 (POSSIBLE GP RUSSIA ASSIGNMENT COMING HER WAY, AND SENIOR TEST SKATES AS WELL), ALTHOUGH WAS JUST AS GOOD AS KAMILA WHEN SHE WAS HER AGE. WHY ETERI. WHY, JUST FCKING WHY. YOU MUST WANT TO SET HER UP FOR FAILURE. LET A CHILD BE A CHILD FOR GOODNESS SAKES, AND THIS GOES FOR THOSE WHO WANTED STEPHEN AND ALYSA TO GO SENIOR LAST YEAR AFTER NATIONALS TOO, LIKE LET THE KIDS BE KIDS, THEYâLL GROWN UP ONE DAY, LET THEM TAKE THEIR TIME OR THEYâLL REGET WHAT THEY MISSED OUT ON. IT AINâT THAT HARD.â
Like a child
âChristianity should have an age limit.â
When I heard this, I asked the speaker what they meant.
The response I got was that Christianity is fine for children, but that itâs not an âadult religion.â Because it requires you to hold yourself back.
If youâre going to keep believing, you canât be emotionally mature. You have to dumb down.
And todayâs Gospel was given as proof that Christianity is supposed to hold people back,
âUnless you turn and become like children, you will not enter the Kingdom of heaven. Whoever becomes humble like this child is the greatest in the Kingdom of heaven.â
Is that right? Is that what Jesus is asking us to do? Do you have to keep yourself emotionally and intellectually immature, if you want to keep your faith?
Of course not.
A momentâs reflection and you realize that this was said by someone who doesnât have children. Much less any understanding of children.
In asking us to be humble like a child, Jesus isnât asking us to stunt our growth. Jesus isnât asking us not to live to our full potential.
Who do you think gave us that potential in the first place?
So what is Jesus asking us to do, to be humble like a child? St. Jerome nails it,
âJust as a child does not persist in anger, does not long remember injury suffered, âŚdoes not think one thing and say another, so you too, unless you have similar innocence and purity of mind, will not be able to enter the kingdom of heaven.â
Becoming humble like a child isnât about holding back. Or dumbing down.
Itâs about dropping our âadultâ baggage.

How many people, other than barty, do you think had put Harry's name into the goblet of fire?
Given his manipulative nature, maybe Dumbledore?
Maybe Minerva? Did she put it in thinking, "he's done something insane every year, why not this year too"
Some of the older students, thinking "Harry is crazy enough to do this, let's give him a chance"
Based on evidence, the ring around the goblet only stopped people under a certain age from entering, but had no effect on the person submitted into the flames.
I can't help but think someone noticed that.
Especially Dumbledore, since he made it.
Maybe he put it in not knowing barty had too.
Maybe dozens of teachers and students had.
Hey, kind of a weird question but do you know of any mental help chatrooms that allow minors 13 and older? I tried to go on one earlier and I told the guy my age and they were like "nope sorry you're too young" and I asked him if he knew of any mental help chatrooms for kids my age and he said "good luck with that hun". I'm not suicidal or anything but I don't really want to wait 3 weeks for an answer.
Iâm not sure of any in specific. Thirteen is the minimum age to legally make an online account in the US without parental permission, so you should legally be ok. However, forum rules may vary.
