I'm sending this anon because it's probably going to be an unpopular opinion but personally I'm not interested in hearing anything else about ATOG/Grey. I mean, it's a great fic. Really it is, but it's getting plenty of circulation all its own. I mean, isn't fandom making it a graphic novel or something? You guys can do what you want, always, but I would say invest time in a fic that barely anyone reads, not the ones everyone's read. Make it like a book club. Bring attention to the new guys.
I hear ya, nonny, I really do, I’m not dismissing your thoughts and concerns. To clarify a little, the reread of Atog is a personal project that I’ve wanted to do for a long time. And yes, I could do this on my personal blog, but since I’m running a fic related blog, I thought it’d reach a wider audience? Using my own blog as a platform for a pet project? Yeah, okay, I am. I’ll own up to that. But I also want to make sure it’s all tagged so that those of you who don’t want to see it don’t have to. I have no desire to let the project overtake the blog.
In addition, on your note about new authors/fics, a couple of things.
1. For any of the prompts, if you know of new works that fit the descriptions, please send me links! I love to highlight newer authors to fandom.
2. My Author Spotlight is designed to support all authors old and new. If you or if someone you know wants to sign up to have their works featured, drop a line! Again, I’m very willing to get newer names out there!
3. afterdalton is hosting a Klaine bookclub of sorts, details forthcoming I believe. I wouldn’t want to step on her toes, though I’m very much in support of all book clubs, and would be happy to link their main posts in my Friday Round Ups for exposure (if that’s okay with them, of course).
4. If there’s a fic that everyone really, really wants to get into, and a lot of people want to talk about it in an indepth way, after ATOG/Grey is done, we can try to do another one? There are a lot of things to weigh, but I’m not outright dismissing it.
5. If you’re someone who wants your fics talked about more, nonny, please come talk to me in person---I’ll be happy to work with you.
Thanks for the message. I want people to know they’re always welcome to come discuss things with me as long as they’re handled as kindly as this nonny.
