many people say that magik (magick, magic) is all about intention and to a certain extent, i agree. magik, to me, is all about focusing intent to change consciousness in order to produce a shift of perception/reality.

if the idea that life is what we perceive it to be is exactly what it is, then the real magik comes from within. it’s about shifting into the reality that aligns with your desire because we are living in multiple realities all at once and there are an endless amount of possibilities, universes, dimensions, etc.

so say you’d like to get a new apartment—a specific apartment. you would start by doing the work in the mundane (applying for it, maybe getting a job, maybe saving the money, maybe signing up for a tour of it) and thennnn doing the work in the spiritual (your prayers, your offerings, your affirmations, your spiritual baths, lighting your candles, feeding mother earth, claiming it, journaling, asking of the tree deep in the very middle of the forest for it in exchange for some water on its roots everyday for the next five months..who said that?—uhhh whatever you want!) so that the spirit world mirrors that desire in your heart.

all you need to do for that is to use tools (breath, affs, spellwork, meditation, prayer, offerings, whatever the hell your beautiful heart aligns with) that aid you in furthering your focus, belief, and will. andddd to my understanding, that is the reason us magicians use the elements—to focus energy onto our desires and pin it there.
