Ahhhh Survivor 42 was so fantastic! I was really blown away by the ending and was so so happy to see Maryanne win! She really was a national treasure. We don't get to see the big characters win very often, let alone when they're women, so it was nice to see it play out that way.

I really liked the entire final 3. Mike was probably my favorite on the season, and it really broke my heart to see him kind of unravel at Final Tribal when it seemed like so many people wanted to vote for him, but I definitely get why they ultimately gave the edge to Maryanne. He definitely lacked intentionality, especially toward the end, and I think they foreshadowed that pretty well after the merge, especially on the Hai vote. I was really proud of him for winning immunity and fire though! I felt kind of bad for Romeo. He started off so strong in the pre-merge and then was almost like cornered into playing a weaker game because people were labeling him as paranoid? Idk, I still feel like the way Drea immediately turned on him was so strange and I don't really understand why it happened.

Honestly, the entire cast was really fun and I appreciated almost everyone on it! I obviously loved Mike and Maryanne, and was also really rooting hard for Omar and Lindsey toward the end! My favorite thing about the season ending is getting to watch and listen to all the postgame interviews, and I didn't realize how hilarious Omar is. He had some really interesting things to say, including some stuff about how Drea treated him at Ponderosa after the fact that was really yikes. I'm in the middle of watching Maryanne's now, and she's every bit as hilarious and chaotic as she seemed on the show.

How much time do you spend on a single graphic / gif? it depends. if i'm just giffing a scene, or like, happy eddie diaz, maybe 10–15 minutes? sometimes the delay comes at the end if i need to keep trial-and-erroring to find the right crop that fits the tumblr size limit. if i'm messing with a quote set where i need to work out the font size and word placement/etc, it can take a little longer. i have a couple different base psds i work with and then edit to fit the scene/character best, and sometimes i don't have to make many changes and sometimes i have to make A LOT of changes so that increases the time. WORST is if i'm trying to make a gif from a screen recording bc then i have to meticulously go through every frame and delete duplicates which increases the time exponentially.

022. what is your biggest improvement since you started making graphics and or gifs? i think my colorings gotten better. also since i stopped working with screenrecordings and instead screenshot from a direct download, the quality of my gifs tend to be sharper and smoother.

1. That Season 5 Premiere Speculation Fic I Never Wrote

Eddie Diaz has some very real problems. When he rolled out of bed in the morning, he expected them to be the obvious ones – like pretending not to be downright terrified to be back at work after he got shot. Not in Afghanistan, but in the streets of Las Angeles. Not as Staff Sergeant Eddie Diaz, but as Firefighter Eddie Diaz. Absolutely none of that was fine, and none if that was fair, but Eddie has to be okay, because he has to be back at work, and he has to have his shit together. He has to be in control of his life, so he hatched some completely foolproof and absolutely not questionable plans to ignore his PTSD all together. If he ignores it, maybe it will go away. Eddie figures, then, that maybe that same strategy will work with this camel.

2. That Season 5 Episode 6, Brawl in Cellblock 9-1-1 Speculation Fic I Never Wrote

Eddie’s veins are filled with ice. It’s the only explanation for why he’s frozen in place, his legs icicles fused to the ground, his eyes wide and trained to the steel barrel of the handgun pointed directly at his head. He’s chilled, right to the very core of him. Hysterically, he wondered if he’d see frosty wisps of air coming out of his mouth if he even dared to breathe. He hadn’t tried yet. He hadn’t moved an inch. The prison guard was sweating profusely, the pits of his poorly fit beige uniform soaked through. It’s the only sign Eddie had that this situation hadn’t gone completely to plan for him. The gun is steady in the man’s grip like he knows how to use it. But Eddie already knew that – the guy with a bullet in his head at Eddie’s feet was his first hint. The name tag on the man’s chest said Roswell, but Eddie’s connected enough dots already to reason that the real Roswell is missing his uniform at best, and his life, at worst. He resisted the urge to flick his gaze down to the man at his feet. Maybe that was Roswell.

3. Okay so it turns out I cannot bring myself to post a snippet from my Ghost Stories speculation fic because I hate it so here's a piece of a fic I was going to call Point Blank and have it address the paintball tournament I reference in Chaotic Energy, which was actually supposed to be the original Crack Part 1 of the whole series because they were supposed to do paintball and all get to know each other BEFORE the events of Express to Nowhere.

“This wasn’t fair play,” Mateo griped, “the 118 has two skilled shooters and we just have Carlos!” “Dude, you’re from Texas. Aren’t you all like born with a shotgun and a concealed carry license?” Buck laughed from his position on the bench, yanking off a muddy boot and wincing as the force of his movement splattered mud right back in his face. “We’re transplants,” Owen offered, “TK and I are from Manhattan.” “Chicago.” “Miami.” “Texas,” Mateo, who at some point had managed to accidentally fire upon himself, contributed, “what? I am.” “The point is,” TK laughed, saving Mateo from himself, “we can’t shoot.” “Speak for yourself, kid” Judd griped from where he stood in the back, still trying to the shake off the dirt that had somehow managed to take up residence inside his head. “Okay well I didn’t see you out there taking these guys down!” “Man’s army – you can see clear as day,” Judd gestured a muddy paw at Eddie, “I ain’t messin’ with that. My kinda prey don’t shoot back.”

18. current number of wips

*opens up stories folder* Uh... we're looking at 4 active WIPs, of which 3 are for 9-1-1 (Chaotic Energy Part 3, Buddie Smut, Tucker Davies sequel) and 1 is an ancient one for Naruto that I might actually legitimately finish. I have 2 abandoned 9-1-1 WIPs because I started writing them as like... speculation in advance of some episodes this season but never finished them in time, and of course they did not align at all with canon in the end, and I simply do not know what to do with them?

I have another 3 that are at this point just titles and maybe some outlining because I've thought them up but haven't actually written anything yet.

23. fics you wanted to write but didn’t

Okay so... one of the 3 "just a title and maybe some outlining" fics I mentioned above has a massive outline because it is for a multi-chaptered AU to be titled, "Where Do Broken Hearts Go" where the 118 is a bodyguarding agency and Taylor Kelly (TV personality) and Ana Flores (Actress) need bodyguarding. Taylor Kelly engaged the 118, and Eddie, fresh out of the military, is working for a different bodyguarding agency and is guarding Ana. Eddie and Buck keep meeting because Taylor covers a lot of the events / shows that Ana is at, and they vibe, and there's also action and drama. All my chapters are titles to different Whitney Houston songs, because clearly I was vibing on Whitney Houston's bodyguard movie from back in the day when I dreamed this up. But... actually writing it scares me because what if it sucks and what if no one wants to read it and so I haven't done it yet.

But maybe I will. Someday. Probably.

24. favorite fic you read this year

THIS IS IMPOSSIBLE because I just got back into fanfiction this year AND into 9-1-1 fanfiction specifically and this fandom is overflowing with talent and I have read 4 years worth of fics in the space of 8 months. I have never seen this many fantastic writers all in one place before and it blows my mind. Someone tell me which fandom y'all move to when you stop fixating on 9-1-1 because wherever you are going I want to follow.

This is an absolute classic. It's super fun, mostly POV outsider and pokes a lot of fun at fandom culture. I adored it.

It's a WIP but it's 300k+ and already feels like 3 completed stories in one. AU where Buck is a firefighter who also does the fake boyfriend thing on the side, and Eddie is new to LA and trying to get his ex-wife off his back so he decides to engage Buck as his fake boyfriend, even though Eddie, himself, is obviously 100% straight no doubt about it.

This is my comfort fic. Different first meeting AU where Eddie and Buck are both firefighters but for different houses and they both get sent to therapy given the events of Season 3 and they decide to do the couples therapy thing because it's funny but also will keep them accountable to actually getting therapy.
