Afewdrinks!Glynda, heading back to the stove to finish up cooking: We met years and years and years ago. I was probably in my senior year of highschool when mom and dad hired him as a handyman for the apartment complex. I never had much interest for the scruffy meathead of a mid-twenty year old.
Afewdrinks!Hazel, coming into the room carrying a bundle of blankets: I'm offended.
AFD!Glynda, picking up the meal from the stove and bringing it to the table, teasing: What a shame. I went away for University when I graduated, Vacuo. Was there for about three or so years before coming home to visit. Someone had changed quite a bit within that time.
AFD!Hazel, unwrapping a baby Oscar and gently fits him into a highchair beside the table: Healthy eating, physical activity, it's a wonder what it does over a few years.
AFD!Glynda: I'd be lying if I said he didn't catch my eye, but at that point I was hardly in my twenties, meanwhile he was nearly thirty, already graying.
AFD!Hazel, standing upright, stroking his bearded chin, speaking mostly to himself: You said you like the gray though...
AFD!Glynda: After graduating University. I came back home. We spoke, spent some time on dates. Spent some nights together. Apparently my mother's desire for a grandchild was just so strong that the universe decided to do her a favor, and now here we are. A little misfit family.
AFD!Hazel, getting a little bowl filled with baby food: I quite like these two misfits I live with.
AFD!Glynda, patting him on the shoulder: Of course old man, of course.
