I wanted to talk about the fact that Neteyam and Lo’ak’s part in the beginning was very sweet and much needed since when Neteyam asks Lo’ak how he dies and he answers, Neteyam kind of brushes it off and says “It needed to be done” (or something along those lines) in a way to make Lo’ak feel like it wasn’t his fault- he wasn’t angry at his brother for it and didn’t put any blame on him either!

But the moment that Jake is pushing Lo’ak away from the council meeting with the tulkun you’d think Jake was going to tell Lo’ak that he does believe him BUT INSTEAD HE BASICALLY PUTS THE BLAME OF NETEYAM’S DEATH ON HIM- this was the first time I cried because I could feel the weight Lo’ak was feeling.

Not only that, but it pushes Lo’ak towards a new low, to the point where he wants to kill himself to lessen whatever burden he believes he placed on his family- which he didn’t!

Second, Spiri kissed and ot looked awkward as hell on the big screen because I don’t remember Kiri closing her eyes for it so she just stared at Spider like 👀 the whole time and it gave me second hand embarrassment 🤣

But also, when Kiri gives Spider the ability to breathe, you can hear in her prayer that she “had to do it” because the great mother (Eywa) “didn’t answer her” but it leads me to guessing- if Eywa didn’t answer Kiri herself, why give Kiri the ability to save Spider in the first place? 🤔

And leading more into the plot, my poor bay Rotxo died, you see him in the end in the spirit realm beside Ronal and it made me cry so hard because he was one of my ride or dies man.

Which leads me to bullying James cameron a little, I know theres only so much you can do in movies with secondary or even tertiary characters, but he did Ao’nung, Tsireya, and Rotxo dirty with how little screen time they got. But I do applaud him for allowing Tsireya to speak up for herself and stop listening to her parents and staying quiet just to keep the peace.

Thirdly, Ronal dying after giving birth to her baby and calling her Prill, if y’all don’t remember Ronal and Tonowari adopted Rotxo so in a way they hqd two boys and two girls together 😭 my lil heart!

But Spider growing a kuru and being able to breathe, Rotxo dying, and Ronal giving birth and dying after were all spoiled to me before I watched the movie leading to me feeling as though this movie was somewhat of a disappointment and rushed at the same time.

But one thing I cannot get out of my mind was when Neytiri started crying because Jake was going to “kill” Spider and you see Neytiri crying about it.

To me Neytiri is going back into her head about the memories of Spider and how even though she disliked him he was just a kid after all- and overall this kid she disliked still risked his own life to save her husband.

When we see her washing her mangkwan face paint off you notice her hands are still red in the water and it makes me wonder if at that moment she saw her hands and realized

“We all bleed red” regardless of their skin tone. They bleed the same color, they fight for the same goddess, they are one in the same and she misunderstood him for so long that she finally, finally gets it. They all bleed red.

Also- DID ANYONE NOTICE THE ENDING?!?!

In the last scenes of the movie, Spider does his communion where he is welcomed as a part of the people, he’s looking up and notices how beautiful it looks but theres one thing in particular I noticed.

There are a few people that reach out to touch him cautiously and calmly, as if to say “I see you brother” in a silent gesture.

But the one person who speaks “I see you” to Spider is none other than Eytukan…. AKA Neytiri’s father.

Idk if it will be confirmed or not, but the garb he is wearing, the little shoulder piece and the way he is dressed and the character looks so much like Eytukan that I can’t even believe it- but I can.
