Trans Pride and being Aegender in Judaism: Tumtum
With the oldest documented evidence occurring in the Mishnah in 200 CE, Tumtum (טומטום) has evolved from being a description of genitals to a gender identity found scattered throughout LGBT+ groups in Judaism. The literal definition found in older texts is that of someone with no female or male characteristics i.e genitals, but the more modern definition matches up with the identity of aegender. This follows along with a modern version of the ancient tradition of arguing over laws and their interpretation as the biblical genders of Androgynos, Tumtum, Ay'lonit, and Saris now being seen as analogous to nonbinary, aegender, ftm, and mtf.
