“It’s called the Alphabet Challenge. Couples’ go on a date that starts with each letter of the alphabet. It’s super cute, and a good way to spice up your relationship. You should try it!” Harry says to Liam and Zayn encouragingly.
Louis scoffs. “Pretty sure if it needs that much spicing…” He uses his fingers to put air quotes around the last word. “Then your relationship is already doomed.”
Harry clicks his tongue disdainfully. “Of course you’re not mature enough to understand something so evolved. You probably wouldn’t last three dates.”
(Or the one where Louis and Harry are frenemies, but a slightly tipsy bet has them doing a challenge that involves going on twenty-six consecutive dates leading up to Christmas Day. Will they kill each other, or find out they have more in common than they thought?)

Louis, meanwhile, is struggling to make friends in his new apartment in a brand new town. She stared at him as he finished the last bite of his meal and neatly placed his knife and fork together on his plate. His posture was impeccable.
She hadn't expected him to bring her to such a nice restaurant. It was remarkable, really, that Mulder could still surprise her after all these years, and seeing him in this kind of environment was fascinating. The subconscious etiquette, embedded into him throughout childhood, was not a side of him she had seen much. Mulder was far from stiff, stuck up. Could be a downright slob at times. But the Mulder boy from the Vineyard would never leave him.
A zip of excitement shot through her. Here they were, on an actual date for the first time, and she was learning new things about him. He smirked at her when he caught her eye, still smiling as he asked the waiter for the dessert menu.
"You know, Scully, I have to admit. I was a little nervous about tonight."
"Nervous?" Scully let out a small chuckle. "Why?"
Mulder shrugged. "I don't know. Seems like a big deal."
"Seems like a really small one to me."
"Do you really think that?"
Scully betrayed a small smile. "No."
"You look beautiful tonight," Mulder said softly. "And I'm glad I can say that without worrying that I'm weirding you out."
Scully lifted her wine glass and hid her wide smile behind it.
“Mé, this could be very, very, very cute. Very romantic comedy… very… While you were sleeping.”
“Who am I, Sandra Bullock? I’d hate to be Peter Gallagher, I'm not in the mood to be knocked out on a train track.”
“I was being figurative.”
“About four adult men right across the lake?”
“Shut up and embrace the fantasy.” Padmé pinched her, and she grinned.
“We’re at winter camp, not a couple’s retreat.”

It's a romcom-y, The Holiday-inspired fic filled with everything I like best: humour, sweetness, and heart, a good dose of smut with feelings, and also: animal companions, charming French villages decked out for the holidays, and a crew of side characters who all ship Drarry as hard as we do!
