In volume 7 Adrienne was holding hands with an unnamed member of her team, so of course I had to draw them sharing the chocolates Adrienne received from her fans :)

Nisha:

Senior in high school, has been on the school’s fencing team since she was a sophomore. She’s the current team captain and she’s their closer.

Started fencing when she was 7.

Nationally ranked (16th) in the under 18s.

Fastest fencer on the team.

Likes to flick her opponents.

Absolute sweetheart in terms of personality. When she isn’t fencing she has the temperament of a kitten.

Indian (specifically Malayali). She was born in the US, but her parents are from Kerala (a state in Southern India, which also happens to be the richest state in India). Her family is fairly well off.

Her parents run a shipping company that transports food internationally (mostly from India to the Americas). They want her to take over the family business.

Lesbian, out to her family and her friend group. Her parents are fine with it.

Has been best friends with Adrienne since she was 10 and started dating her several months ago.

She’s also been Adrienne’s roommate since they started high school.

Scared of heights.

Adrienne:

Senior in high school. This is her second year on the team.

Functions as the team scout and strategist, learns information about other teams’ fencers and relays that information back to her own team.

Currently their second fencer, but last year she was their reserve.

Recently started learning the flick from Nisha, much to the chagrin of both Dafna and Ruby.

French, moved to America with her mom when she was 10. Quickly latched onto Nisha since Nisha was the only person at their rich (and, let’s face it, very white and American) elementary school who was patient with her when she struggled with English and helped her out instead of making fun of her.

She started fencing back when she lived in France, and when she came to America, the piste was pretty much the only place she felt at home.

Now that she’s been in the US for several years, her French accent has completely faded and a lot of people (outside of her fencing team/friend group) don’t know that she’s from France.

Before she and Nisha started dating, she dated around exactly as much as Aiden does in canon. Even after she and Nisha became girlfriends, she continued to lightly flirt with other girls, but she never took it further than that. (Nisha is totally fine with this. She’d be upset if Adrienne took things further, but as far as she’s concerned, flirting is just Adrienne’s way of being friendly to someone.)

Also scared of heights.

They’re both scared of heights because of a shared bad experience. You see, Adrienne and Nisha both tried to climb a particularly tall tree when they were in 5th grade. A branch broke under Adrienne, she fell, and Nisha tried to grab her to break her fall and ended up getting dragged down with her. The two girls didn’t end up breaking bones or anything, but Adrienne did get a concussion and Nisha ended up spraining her left wrist.

Dafna:

Senior. This is her second year on the team. She’s currently their first fencer, but last year she was their second fencer.

Started fencing when she was around 14.

Tallest fencer on her team, has some trouble with low line parries.

Gets nervous around big crowds

Met Harvard during last year’s fencing state championships. They live on opposites sides of Connecticut, so most of their relationship took place over video chat. They only went out on 2 in-person dates (one of which took place on the day of the State Championships).

Ruby:

Sophomore. Reserve. This is her first year on the team, and she’s not thrilled about the fact that all three of her teammates are going to be graduating at the end of this year.

Started fencing when she was 11.

Has made some friends at regional tournaments and at local fencing clubs, so she often ends up using those connections to supplement the information Adrienne finds about other teams.

Great lunge, good parries, and a habit of going for low lines that drives Dafna crazy when they practice together.

Takes stretching very seriously, and is incredibly flexible as a result. (She did gymnastics before she started fencing.)

She’s straight, but she has two moms so she’s very supportive of the LGBT+ community. One of her moms is a doctor and the other one is a bio professor at Yale.

Hopes to be a fencing coach someday.

🛏️: How does your muse sleep?

- Parker sleeps really bad by himself always and if sleeping next to someone else it’s not AS bad, but still not restful. He sleeps on his stomach or side, with an arm curled around his pillow and phone in his face til he passes out most times.

😈: whats your muse’s villain trait?

- Adrienne loves to play with people’s emotions, to get reactions,and ultimately make people crash out. Any attention is favored attention to her/hate reactions are still attention, etc etc. She loves rage bait, and to some extent trolling for the sale of being an asshole and seeing how far ppl will go.
