Friend Folio: Adlet
The Adlet comes courtesy Inuit mythology, ferocious dog-men who - continuing in a long, unfortunate, and decidedly global tradition - may or may not be the ancestors of their creators' neighbors. Stories and traditions differ depending on where you are relative to Baffin Island.
Pathfinder's interpretation is a lot simpler: they're a species of ludicrously powerful monstrous humanoids from the boreal regions, not necessarily evil but quite unpleasant to stumble upon unwittingly. Your average adlet is a nightmare to deal with even by themself, especially if you're fighting in snowy terrain. Add a few more and a shaman or two, and your party will be feeling the hurt.
Still, adlet aren't evil. If your party's looking for food, shelter, or passage through a treacherous arctic pass, I'm sure they'd be willing to work something out.
Frost giants hold that the adlet are the foul result of interbreeding with direwolves. The adlet themselves are not fond of this legend, and as a giganthropology team tasked with recording frost giant sagas makes their way back towards warmer lands, a raiding party sets out to seize and destroy their findings.
On the Isle of Sveldrin, a team of human, elf, and orc researchers works with an adlet tribe's shaman on cryogenic research projects. One day, the shaman disappears into a nearby glacier; three days later, he emerges, afflicted with a mysterious corruption (consider the accursed corruption template from Horror Adventures pg. 16-17). For the sake of tribe and research team alike, the curse must be broken - but first, you'll need to subdue him.
The ningen were created when Niviarsiang's husband severed her fingers after she spitefully left him for a dog. Among Niviarsiang's worshipers are the adlet, who hold the ningen in reverence - and if the party is willing to sink an invading whaling ship, they'd be willing to help them navigate the Screamteeth.
