Introduction Course B – Evenings 6pm – 8.30pm, for 5 days 10th – 14th April 2016 Introductory B This introductory module will cover 4-fold geometric patterns from across the Islamic world, together with elementary biomorphic patterns, with a focus upon the Hatayi motif. The module culminates with practical element in which students have the opportunity to incise geometric pattern onto 23 carat transfer gold and explore principles of tessellation. Note: This course is open to anyone new to Islamic patterns. It can be taken together with with Intro A, or taken as a stand-alone module. In summary, the two courses have a different focus in terms of the family of symmetry explored, the biomorphic/Arabesque patterns taught and the practical element covered. The idea is that students can either do both modules together, or perhaps do one and then return to do the other. The order does not matter. They are both at an introductory level and complement each other in terms of content. Advanced Follow Workshop: The evening Advanced level course runs from 6.00-8.30pm for those who have completed Intro A and B. Look forward to seeing you there. #IslamicPatternDesignWorkshop #IslamicPattern #IslamicGeometry #lslamicFloralDesign #Arabesque #TheNatinalTheatre #AbuDhabi @kandooski @artofislamicpattern #AdamWilliamson
