This was years ago. Likely my favorite photo ever of the man. Was it after Dior Homme? Céline (old Céline)? Either way. Nothing more to say. You made waves. You’re gone too soon. You’ve left a legacy. Hats off to you. Forever. Rest In Peace, my friend, Virgil Abloh. • LINK in BIO • #VirgilAbloh #AKS #AdamKatzSinding #NoFreePhotos (at Tennis club de Paris) https://www.instagram.com/p/CW1YvfqoAlu/?utm_medium=tumblr

Little did I know, this would be the last photo I would ever take of Virgil. As well as the last time I would ever see him. His show in summer of 2021 in Paris in the pouring rain. I almost didn’t go. The weather sucked and I was getting to shows on a Vélib. WWD booked me for the backstage so I begrudgingly went. Now I can’t be happier with my choice. One last chance to see the man at work. Here he is smiling talking to Anna Wintour just before the show began. Rest In Peace, Virgil. • LINK in BIO • #VirgilAbloh #AKS #AdamKatzSinding #NoFreePhotos (at Lycée Carnot) https://www.instagram.com/p/CW1YaFYILKI/?utm_medium=tumblr
Shortly after the publication of “This is NOT a F*cking Streetstyle Book” I heard the news of Virgil’s appointment at Louis Vuitton. I was so excited. Fashion had made the right choice. Who could have deserved this more!? This man, a REAL human, at the helm of what is arguably one of the most important houses in the world. YES YES YES. I was so proud of him. Let’s change the world. Rest In Peace, Virgil. • LINK in BIO • #VirgilAbloh #AKS #AdamKatzSinding #NoFreePhotos (at Paris, France) https://www.instagram.com/p/CW1YAk1IOft/?utm_medium=tumblr
Years passed and times changed. Off-White was blowing up, and Virgil was still as cool and real as the day we met. I was endeavoring to produce my first book with Mendo and wanted someone of substance to write the foreword. Virgil was the first name that came to mind when I thought of people I was acquainted with who had a real head on their shoulders. I met Virgil at his hotel in Stockholm and conducted and interview with him and my publisher in Amsterdam. To say that his words blew me away would be an understatement. Virgil spoke in a way that was so composed, intellectual, concise, and downright cool that I walked out of the lobby with the biggest smile on my face that I can recall in years. This photo went I to the aforementioned book “This is NOT a F*cking Streetstyle Book”. When I took this photo I had no idea how important this moment was. Virgil writing in Sharpie on his first Nike collab. I’m hindsight this was also likely an very important moment for him as well. I’m lucky to have been there and I’m lucky to have his words immortalized in my (our) book. Rest In Peace, Virgil. • LINK in BIO • #VirgilAbloh #AKS #AdamKatzSinding #NoFreePhotos (at Palazzo Pitti) https://www.instagram.com/p/CW1XkB3I-9B/?utm_medium=tumblr
