"Into the Spiderverse is the first animated movie to be CGI with intentional "unfinished" looks and "imperfect" frame rates with 2D textures on their models, they are geniuses !"
Meanwhile Adama, French movie with a black teenager protagonist as well, that came out years before in 2015 which nobody remembers :
@papabirdurskeks pointed it out and now I can't unsee (even if Adama also mixes in stopmotion). I HOPE it is a coincidence and not plagiarism, or that credit being attributed to Sony Animation is not deserved and it wouldn't be the first time an obscure French animated movie gets fucked by Hollywood copying it. But I do want to think it is just either a coincidence with great minds thinking alike at the same time (mid/late 2010's) or even an inspiration (even subconscious) as it is often done in art where the line is very blurry and we can't truly blame without proofs... but still unfortunate French movies always get forgotten despsite often having revolutionary ideas and concepts
Everyone's obsessing over Moo Deng, but where's the love for Adama?
