The text in Donkey Kong Bananza is in Ad Lib (1961).
The letters look like they were cut out with scissors, rather than drawn with a pen or a brush, which makes it possible for the interior of a letter to be a different shape from the exterior. This style was popular in the 1960s (though the Tony's Chocolonely logo is a more recent example).
Harold Adler claimed that Ad Lib was based on custom lettering that he did for the 1958 film Bonjour Tristesse, which seems plausible based on the timing.
Fonts In Use has more examples of Ad Lib, as well as similar 60s fonts like Mason.
