Fun fact about DID:

You don't have to know who's fronting all the time. It's normal to be blurry or just not want to know. It's ok it doesn't make you any less real and it's healthy to not know sometimes.

The culture of alters being distinctly different from one another, be it handwriting, typing style, speech patterns, or anything of that sort. It's unhealthy it causes more boundaries in the system and we should not push the narrative that everyone is going to be distinctly different you can't always tell who's fronting from the outside and that's a good thing.

We can pretend very hard we are one person. But that doesn't make us one person. What you perceive of us is our protection. You don't get to decide if we're real, you don't share our body.

Sometimes people will get really excited when I tell them Im a part of a system. Like "I signed up for 1 friend and I get 20!!!" And I'm all yeah no you signed up for 1 and you get 3 kids, some parental/older brother/sister figures, a ton of traumatized folks who are distrustful of you, one+ who hates you outright, and the cartoonish supervillain type one (Megamind)

Again when making friends with a system not everyone will like you. Just as with everyone else you're not going to get along with some people, don't assume they will all adore you. Just do your best to stay on good terms with most everyone.

So I saw someone talking about how littles just "think they're children" in an adults body and therefore totally cool if they're online and people should stop hiding them from online.

I understand the premise but the reason we keep our littles offline is because they still act like children. There are people who can and will take advantage of the naivete /innocence/ general childishness of a little. On top of this most of our littles are trauma holders this means they're easier to manipulate. We let VERY few people be around our littles and if they're going to front the most tech they'll be on is a solo Minecraft world, and YouTube kids. We want to protect them and this is just another layer of doing so.

I just thought we should discuss this. As it's a lot of work to have a little online and keep them safe so we choose not to. This approach is not for all systems if you guys decide you want your littles online just make sure to monitor them.

I've been uncomfortable with calling everyone in the system alters for a while now since it's short for "alternate personalities" which just makes me feel like it makes them not their own people you know? Does anyone know anything else to call them?
