It's really frustrating that you go to therapy groups or you go online or you talk to your friends and they say it's okay to ask for help, but then when you actually do ask for help in practical situations the world beats the hell out of you for it.

It's DID Awareness Day (March 5)!
Nowadays, a lot of people have heard about Dissociative Identity Disorder, but even though that's the case, most people still don't seem to actually understand what this condition is other than "it's when you got multiple personalities". DID is so much more complex than "having multiple people in one body", and I'd love if more folks knew about this!
There's already too many people trying to educate on what DID is without having the credentials to do so, so I will instead refer to other educators for anyone interested in learning more about DID. For this, I highly recommend checking out did-research.org or The CTAD Clinic on youtube! Both of these resources are made by specialists in complex trauma and dissociation and are communicated in a way that is fairly easy to understand
Oh, and to all the people out there with DID, I wish you a great day! <3
I wish there was content on Tumblr for coping with burnout if you have lost words mostly.
When shutdowns are every day.
I don't know who needs to hear this, but it's really none of your business what hobbies someone chooses to engage in, like anything weird or taboo, or anything really, like we shouldn't be expecting people expose their entire lives for you to judge online, just so they can be in the in-group with you.
Social credibility is bullshit anyway, I'd rather be friends with someone who has a weird hobby, than be friends with someone I have to walk on eggshells around.
So you need to hear that it's okay to be weird and it's okay for others to be weird, and something uncomfortable isn't a moral failing on their part.
The more you judge others, the more of a bully you actually are.
Happy 1312! On this blog we hate cops! Remember to never call the cops on someone who has a mental health episode. The cops regularly kill mentally ill and neurodivergent people for no reason. They drag us to get forcefully "treated" if they don't kill us, where they with physical force hold us down so doctors can inject us with sedative drugs and strap us down on beds for hours. There are no good cops. The system is rotten. And remember, this is not just an American problem. ACAB is global. Fuck the police!!!

I had a friend that I got twitter for, because they were institutionalized and they stopped being my friend after calling me psychotic, like wdym being in a traumatic situation where you were forced to face systemic ableism and saneism and that didn't make you relearn your own bigotry against other mentally ill people? What do you mean that you never actually had any respect for people with mental illnesses, and you're okay with calling people delusional, just because their unpalatable symptoms and experiences are upsetting to you?
Does going along with an oppressor's perspective make you feel better about yourself? Or did you never actually have guilt or empathy for your fellow neurodivergent friend? Why didn't this radicalize you? Why aren't you someone who cares about those who had their rights taken away from them just like you were?
I just.. don't understand how that can make someone hate people who go through the same thing everyday, to use isults and slurs against people who had faced or may end up facing the same things you did?
It feels like people are radicalized the opposite way, because they have shame inside that makes them fear anyone who is "different". But it's not a solution, it's walking directly into that cage and not looking back.
ever think about how much not being able to meet social expectations as an autistic person can fuel OCD tendencies ?
like . you , your whole life , have had to constantly examine yourself . scrutinize yourself . if you stop , you will lose people you love . they will see you as irredeemable , inhuman , unworthy . you NEED to be constantly judging everything you do in order to survive socially ( and surviving socially is the same as actually surviving btw , on multiple levels . mental health hinges on it , and often so does physical ).
3/4 of my grandparents have/had OCD . i was bound to show some traits . but i honestly doubt if it wasn't for the autistic self-persecution along with the religious self-flagellation that i would be anywhere near diagnosable
You there, neurodivergent person. How do you feel about the texture of microfiber cloth?
I like it :)
It’s fine I guess
DISGUSTING, GET THAT SHIT AWAY FROM ME
Wait, what’s the deal with microfiber?
Feel free to elaborate/explain your answer in the notes
