Cal-Sag Cycles: Blue Island's Pop-Up Bike Shop
Cal-Sag Cycles started simply enough... Friends of the Calumet-Sag Trail gets a call from Rails to Trails... we'll let Steve tell the story:
Rails to Trails Conservancy asked me: if they gave me $12K, could I produce a 1-month Earn a Bike training program (kids get free Fuji bikes) somewhere in the Chicago area for 15 kids in three weeks time? So I and my friends did for Blue Island.
Yeah we did.
Cal-Sag Cycles asks: why wait for someone to come to town with a bike shop? If we earn bikes, isn't that a bike shop? It is, and we're doing it. For Blue Island.
