I thought it was an acronym at first, but had no idea what for. Let's assume for the moment j stands for Jewish or Judaism or something. So what can it be?

Well, it can be AShkenazi Jews, but that doesn't ring well. Maybe Ashkenazi Sepharadi Jews, but I don't know if there's any usefulness in such a category. AS can be an acronym for AntiSemitism, but that doesn't combine to anything nice so we'll leave it there. Maybe Aleppo-Syrian Jews? I mean, I don't think Syrian Jews not from Aleppo are much different from the Aleppo Jews. Plus, obviously Jews from Aleppo are Syrian, Aleppo is in Syria. So yeah, IDK.
