Reign the Earth it's not a light reading. Some moments are really disturbing and irritating, and make you feel Shalia's fear in a such crude way that you can't ignore it. You understand too well how Calix behaves directly and indirectly to create a submission relationship, how he underestimates other's opinions and most of all the role of the woman in both relationship and society. . “𝑻𝒉𝒆𝒓𝒆 𝒊𝒔 𝒂 𝒅𝒊𝒇𝒇𝒆𝒓𝒆𝒏𝒄𝒆 𝒃𝒆𝒕𝒘𝒆𝒆𝒏 𝒑𝒆𝒂𝒄𝒆 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒔𝒖𝒃𝒎𝒊𝒔𝒔𝒊𝒐𝒏.” . And this book presents another important theme, that is how people justify their use of power. Calix hides between the words "I did it for your and my people's safety" but lots of times he's always driven by his fear, his greed and vengeance too (but there's more to discover to understand this character with a 360-degree view). Shalia is the best vehicle to see that. She tries really hard to bring peace, to make him understand how things could be better with trust and kindness.
