When my good pal Chris and I set out to create a short film a few years, we decided to tell a story about an ace man with a happy ending. Ace representation in the media was so minor at the time, and the representation we did get was a depiction of loneliness

Dear readers,

This month is the time we celebrate different types of love! and so are the asexual folks. I've discovered that I'm ace since I was in middle school. I never understand the appeal of hookup culture or sex in general. I'm actually repulsed by the thought of it. Sometimes my brain will dismiss my sexuality by saying, 'Oh, Twinky, you're just being a prude,' or when I would become uncomfortable with sexual jokes, it would say, 'It's just a joke! Don't take it seriously'

AND it can also be isolating to be surrounded by allosexuals. I sometimes feel like the odd one who doesn't enjoy sex and the jokes surrounding it.

But as I grow more asexual friends, I feel much more confident in myself. The fact that I'm not alone in this makes me feel somewhat loved.

I'm lucky to have a boyfriend who accepts my asexuality and doesn't pressure me at all. If you ever feel invalidated for your asexuality, it helps a lot to have a supporting community or friends to help you out. I'm forever grateful for this site called AceSpace where I met all of my ace friends. The community feels so welcoming and cozy. I could just write about what happened on the forum, and there'll be nice people.

🌟 Warnings of Acephoba 🌟

I was scrolling on tik tok yesterday and there was a post about someone's favourite celebrity's that are in the LGBTQ+ I scroll through them watching and saw an ace person which I thought was cool, so I went on the comments..

First thing I saw was "Asexuals aren't apart of the LGBT" then there was more going to "being asexual is a myth" etc etc just more acephobic comments across this tik tok.

I've always felt Tik tok is hateful towards aces, every post mentioning ace is just hateful. As you can see from my previous posts where I showcased a bunch of comments from Tik Toks being acephobic.

When I was first finding out asexual, I was searching the whole meaning of the LGBTQ+ like what the letters stand for. It came to A and it went "a is for allies" this was some years ago about 8-10 years ago but at the time I remember just saying something like no silly it's asexual and aromatic.

But I don't know just the lack of understanding we get from people is frustrating. Sorry just needed to rant this out my head.
