Whispers of the Mind: Navigating the Challenges and Struggles of Students Occurring at Central Mindanao University, Maramag, Bukidnon

JOURNEY
We political science students tend to not look only at political and social problems occurring within our university premise, but we also look beyond our jurisdictions. Together with my group, we had a meeting conducted two days ago to determine the main problem that our CMUANS are facing this semester. We tried to work beyond our means to think of the situational struggles that we also encounter in our daily lives as CMUAN students. Our meeting can only be supplemented by conducting interviews with other CMUANS to sustain and achieve the substantial information we can gather. Our target populations are, of course, the CMU students in different in different colleges. We intend to do random interviews as a way to speed up the information gathering, not to focus only on one college to get diverse opinions of their external factors.
RESULTS
Mainly, the whispers of these students in their daily struggles is the difficult access to Motorela during rush hour. They said that when times of rush hour occur or convenient circumstances, especially when it is raining, motorelas inside CMU and college park, are difficult to access. In unprecedented situations like rain, students swarm in the area of the lobby waiting for motorelas to stop by, however, most transportation vehicles are full and would force these students to walk towards their destination. Their destinations at times are burdensome to walk onto and thus, need a motorela to shorten the distance. This made the students arrive on time due to their inconvenient circumstances and the sudden hindrances.
UNDERSTANDINGS
I have been also sympathetic to their situation because I did also encounter that problem especially since almost all motorelas are out of service or most are full and cannot be easily accessible during rush hour and unexpected natural circumstances. Moreover, not all students own personal vehicles due to personal reasons, and not all are privileged enough to get them due to the high costs of purchase. Instead, they, including myself, would risk hopping on to these motorelas for only 10 pesos just to arrive at my destination in more or less 5-10 minutes. Nonetheless, not all the time can be accessible in just a snap. Hence, a thorough investigation of this certain situation would be needed. With this, as a student who undergoes the same situation as them, a solution to overcome this obstacle is crucial, and the means to adhere to this is to collaborate and cooperate with political science students as one group mobilizing entity to make this solution happen.
