Hyper Light Drifter Nintendo Switch Announcement Trailer

Nintendo held its “Nintendo Switch Nindies Summer Showcase” featuring all of the indie games coming soon to the Nintendo Switch and YAY we won’t have to wait long for Hyper Light Drifter. The Switch edition will include exclusive new content.

Heyo folks, here’s some screenshots from a side-scrolling space shoot ‘em up called Super Hydorah by Locomalito, Gryzor87, and Abylight Studios.

To be completely honest, I’m not that great at these types of games but I’ve never really been one to turn down a review offer/request even if I’m not that good at something (Or if I don’t really like the genre).

Still, I’m up to the challenge, even if the game is going to utterly destroy me numerous times. From what I’ve seen so far the game plays great. It’s very well designed and the controls feel butter smooth. (I’m just not that good at multitasking so I keep dying because of multiple bullets).

This will also be my second PS4 review and I’m looking forward to covering it.

I’ll hopefully have more screenshots as I play the game.

After half a year of waiting since its release platform announcement, Super Hydorah is now out on Steam and Xbox!

The retro horizontal shmup looks back at Gradius, R-Type, Darius, Turrican, and makes sweet sweet love with them, bringing you pixel graphics, CRT overlay effect (if you want it), and single player plus coop like you would be standing in front of a 1980s arcade machine right now.

The loved solo developer Locomalito joined forces with Alberto J. González a.k.a. McAlby of Abylight Studios to obsess over details, while Gryzor87 composed a 60+ track OST to make the experience through 21 non-linear levels live up to its pixel epicness.

Abylight Studios has announced a partnership with Frictional Games to bring the studio’s horror games to Switch, including SOMA, Amnesia: Rebirth, and Amnesia: The Bunker, as well as a physical edition of Amnesia: Collection.

Digital

SOMA – A horror and science-fiction video game set under the waves of the Atlantic Ocean. Fight to survive in a hostile world that will make you question your own existence.

Amnesia: Rebirth – The sequel for Amnesia: The Dark Descent is a first-person horror adventure. Uncover your past and survive the Algerian desert. Fear is your enemy; stay calm to not succumb to an illness threatening you and your loved one. Avoid darkness, hide from monsters and solve puzzles.

Amnesia: The Bunker – Set in a WW1 bunker. In this 2023 release a relentless, AI-driven monster stalks you. Survival depends on finding tools, crafting items, and keeping the lights on.

Physical (already available digitally)

Amnesia: Collection – Contains the three titles from this acclaimed horror series Amnesia: The Dark Descent (originally released in 2010), Amnesia: A Machine For Pigs (2013), and “Justine” which is additional content for Amnesia: The Dark Descent released in 2011, will be the first one to hit physical form for Nintendo Switch in 2025.
