Bruce hadn’t seen Kal around. A part of him was happy that the younger man had listened, but the rest of him missed having him around.
Not that they talked much, but he weirdly missed being able to feel his eyes on him from afar. Hearing the slight change in the air when he trailed him.
He knew he could just say his name out loud and Kal would be in front of him in seconds. But then that’d defeat the whole purpose of what he said before. They couldn’t be together. He’d made that point very clear last time.
Bruce scoffed as he had another thought, what if Kal hasn’t even been thinking about me this much? What if the past two months he hadn’t been stalking him, he’d moved on? The thought was mind numbing.
“Kal, I-“ he couldn’t finish his wording before his hair was pushed back and the very man was in front of him. “That was the worst two months of my life.” He whined, taking quick steps, and only stopping when Bruce held a hand up.
“Why are you here?” Like a confused puppy, Kal slanted his head. “You called me.” Bruce sighed, dropping his hand. “I didn’t call you. I was thinking out loud.” As if he’d said his favorite word, Kal’s eyes began to shine. “You’ve been thinking of me?” Bruce knew he’d said the wrong thing, but he could at least admit that he enjoyed how excited Kal still was to see him.
He knew he shouldn’t—that he should let him be and go about his ways. But there was just something about him that kept pulling him in.
