AHHHHH MY GOAT IS BACK AND I STILL LOVE HIMMMM!! HIS CONVO WITH WAYLON?! HELL YEAH I LOVE THEM BOTHHHHHH!! I AGREE EDDIE, THE YELLOW IS FIRE!!! ALSO LOVE WHAT WE’RE SEEING WITH ABSOLUTE SCARECROW(Not entirely sure how I feel about the Batman Project yet. I need to see more of it or just think about it more to get a full opinion.) Bruce’s reaction in the beginning of the comic, god Bruce is about to go through it😭 ALSO SOME ABSOLUTE PENGUIN AND TWO FACE CONTENT?! Love this issue (Didn’t mention the robins cause their appearance is small but can’t wait to see the fight next issue!)

Your honor I love the Absolute Rogues. I, like Boomer, did not have Jesse and Lisa as a pair on my bingo card but I’m not upset about it. Would that ship name be GoldenTricks? Lisse? Either way I love their vibes of beating the crap outta eachother and then kissing eachother better lol.

Other than that my theory that Absolute Pied Piper was the last member of S.T.A.R Labs was apparently wrong (BOOOO) but Absolute Ray Palmer is cool too!!

Absolute Green Lantern #15 - This was probably one of the best (if not the best) issue of this series so far! I loved how John was challenged, I love how Guy used his stomach acid as a weapon, and I loved the back and forth between Jo and Tomar. Such an incredible issue. The philosophical questions posed in this issue were good and I’m excited to see where they go. After I wasn’t super impressed by the last two or three issues, this one really impressed me!

Absolute Flash #15 - This was a great start to the new arc! I loved seeing what the Rogues were up to, they’re so fun in this book (and in general). I like that we’re starting to set up more stuff with Grodd after the end of issue 12. And I absolutely loved what Wally and Linda are up to. I like Linda helping, I like the mystery of everything, seeing a warning from future Wally was cool, and I loved the Star Labs stuff. The Absolute Atom costume is so good and I liked the tease towards Cyborg with Silas Stone looking for Victor. Overall, a great issue, I’ve been really enjoying this series the last few issues and it shows no sign of slowing down!

Absolute Wonder Woman #20 - Another incredible issue! Seeing Diana lose and get captured was interesting. I love how she got out of Veronica Cale’s clutches and how that will affect her going forward. I also love how they’re setting up Barbara Minerva’s transformation into Cheetah. It’s all so good and I can’t wait for the next issue!

Absolute Green Arrow #1 - This was an incredible first issue! It does a great job at setting up the mystery, introducing Dinah, and introducing the Green Arrow. Hammond here feels exactly like he did in Absolute Green Lantern and I’m interested to see how that book eventually addresses what’s happened to him in this issue. I’m super excited to read the next issue!

First general thoughts of the issue. I thought it was good! It's major issue is the same as the rest of the series, this title has very decompressed story telling so it felt like very little happened. But this is simply the nature of this book's style at this point it seems so it's really a matter of whether one likes that store or not. It's an interlude issue so no Wally, which will annoy some but frankly is such a common thing in cape comics that really, I don't see anything wrong with it. We need to learn what we did about our villains and Wally's father especially. Now to specific...

Very interesting stuff here! I really like this direction for the Rogues. Essentially they are a military unit that... Well went rogue and are forced into being turned into weapons at Fort Fox or go to jail. Very suicide squad. Suddenly it makes a lot of who they are and how they function make sense. Definitely wonder what exactly they did and I think this implies potential redemption arcs for them.

Also! Jay Garrick was involved in however they got the tech back in 1944. The energy that killed Barry and gave Wally powers he was pushed into by a Thawne back then (assumedly Elenore's father or grandfather?).

We fine out this issue that Lisa is a double amputee, she's got prosthetics from Fort Fox. Before she gets said prosthetics we see her in I'm the modern day, she uses a wheelchair. The artist gave her an actually good wheelchair design, and she's wearing gloves while using it! Honestly some of the better wheelchair integration in modern cape comics.

Now some speculation, I'm like nearly certain Lemire is connecting the tech and energy to the Savothians (the aliens that are very aware of the Speed Force that the Flashes know) which is fascinating cause I'm pretty sure they haven't been mentioned since the Wild Wests. Lemire is giving a lot of deep pulls.

So is Wally ripping open portals in time/space when he uses his powers???

man i love these designs but fuck if that's not just Omni-Man doing an acting bit between Invincible seasons.

Anyway, thoughts:

I would like to see more of Jesse. The orange bubble-bombs are neat, but I'm not really getting a sense of background and I would like some.

Oh, Wally. You poor, terrified, overcharged, discombobulated kid. (That said, I really like what I am seeing of the Speed Force graphics; the blocked lines like reality reception tuning in and out and depixelating, the two halves of the split lightning bolt. They feel not just fast but frenetic, not breaking the fourth wall but flagging that there are multiple sides to the third and also all the bricks are mixing.)

As a whole, I do not love the team's vibe. It feels too professional and restrained. I mean, not that Cold can't be professional, just... I cannot imagine any of them (except Digger) ever saying "oh fuck this," you know?
