Alright, just finished Absolute Power, here’s my summarised thoughts fresh out.
The event was good in presentation and all the tie ins didn’t keep the scope feeling just big enough without getting too big to care anymore. Waller’s writing into a woman who falls for a villain breakdown monologue trick by the finale is… unfortunate but that’s really just the ultimate conclusion about how so many writers have misunderstood her characterisation.
Oliver’s secret mole position was cool to watch even if I kind of wish Dinah got to slap him about it even if just as a “don’t do that again.”
Some of the big crowd action shots were a bit hard to follow, sometimes because of the numbers, sometimes because the colour drowns out discerning features.
As a whole, decent, enjoyable. Now I can get back to Titans.
