A thought that occurred while I was in the shower:
Abin Sur's sister was named Arin, which could suggest that the Sur family (if not Ungarans in general) give siblings names that rhyme. Admittedly, this is a sample size of one and is thus not indicative of a pattern in any way but bear with me here
Abin had a son named Amon Sur, and an unnamed daughter who was murdered by Iroque before she became Indigo-1. If we go off of Abin and his sister's names, that means that Abin's daughter probably had a name that rhymed with "Amon"
Personal headcanon, Abin's daughter was named Anon. Short for "Anonymous"

despite abin only ever meeting hal as he was dying, he still spent his entire existence, both alive and dead, constantly haunted by hal
tales of the glc: annual two // the spectre: 2001 (#5)
This started as wanting to draw GL! Sin getting beat up again and now I am thinking about personal headcanons.
My previous train of thought was that Abin has helped Sinestro hide a body at least once. Current thinking is perhaps that in reverse- a very, very poor precedent to set for Sinestro.
Sinestro headcanon that is very much dear to me (as all my Rookie Sinestro headcanons are):
Abin taught Sinestro a bit of in-the-field first aid- it started during their first meeting, in which Sinestro was injured after an extremely reckless attempt to bring down an enemy ship alone. He was new to the force at the time, and his assigned mentor was… nowhere in sight. Abin patched him up, walking him through what he was doing in an effort to build a rapport with the prickly and distrusting cadet so getting him back to Oa wouldn’t be a problem.
This continued when Abin was later assigned as Sinestro’s second mentor. Sometimes, due to Certain Circumstances, traditional ring-slinging skills were not really something Sinestro could work on comfortably (and in truth he didn’t really need any help there), so Abin would teach him other useful things in the meantime.
This isn’t to say Sinestro is any good at it, far from it, but his ability to patch a wound or assess injury, even without a ring, has saved his own life a few times- when one is a renegade and extremely independent and untrusting of others, it’s good to be able to treat yourself. In truth, he refuses to let anyone treat him most times because doing so himself is something that makes him feel close to Abin again. It’s comforting.
