Abi and Cat are cousins, and have always been best friends and inseperable since the day Abi was born.
Cat is the result of an affair; her father was a wealthy man who took advantage of his maid, and the result is Cat. She has her fathers last name, but little contact with the family, and she was never formally aknowledged in the circles that matter. Not that Cat cares; her passion is dance, and she knows if her father had taken a deeper interest in her life, she’d be forced onto professional ballet, but it’s contemporary and lyrical that are her big passions.
After messing up her big audition a few years ago though, she’s been putting her big dreams on the shelf. She is part of a dance crew that puts on show around town every now and then, but her primary job is as a dance teacher for children. Cat desperatley wants children, but she is unable to have them, her greatest sorrow in life.
To most people Cat seem very put together and proper, but she hides a dark secret. She is severaly messed up mentally, suffering from anxiety, depression and borderline personality disorder. Abi suspects some of this, but none know how deep it really goes.
Cat has two older half brothers, Alexander and Nathan. Alexander is the family heir and rarely has time to come out and visit his little sister, but he does care for her, despite her illegitimacy. Nathan is a jet-setter and is rarely seen, he spends his days gambling around the world.
Abi’s parents died in a car crash when she was 12, and after that she lived with Cat and her aunt. She and Cat is as close as sisters, and it was only natural for Abi to move in with Cat when she was finished with her nursing degree. She works as a nurse in a home for elderly and disabled, and she loves her job. She doesn’t mind scrubbing bedpans and the other dirty work; the smile of a patient makes it all worth it. She loves feeling useful. Abi is a deeply caring person, with a need to help everyone that’s broken.
On her freetime she paints; her mother was a famous painter and Abi has inherited her talent. She has had several art shows already and has been praised for her style. Abi doesn’t want to live off her art though, she needs to be surrounded by other people, not just shut in her studio all day. She’s a hopeless romantic and dreams of finding her one true love; a love story like her parents had. She gets sulky if she goes more than three weeks without a date.
Abi likes Starlight Shores okay enough, but would never have settled down there for a long period if Cat wasn’t living there; the city is too shallow for her tastes, centered around the rich and famous and those wanting to be that. Abi is a very down to earth person, despite her artistic flair. She wants a big family one day, but she needs to fine The One first.
Cat will be the founder of my legacystorything. Abi will be moving in with simandsorrow... But she has her own part to play in the story first ;)
I am aiming at starting the story at the beginning of next week... :D Fingers crossed!
