Farmland outside Aberdour, Fife
I recently visited the beautiful Aberdour Castle in Fife, near Edinburgh in Scotland. Parts of the castle date from 1200, making it one of the two oldest standing castles in Scotland, with bits being added to it in subsequent years - the final addition was the walled garden in 1635. The television show Outlander also filmed some scenes here!
NEW pic of Sam Heughan in Scotland--thanks Team for the heads up in DM!
So, it looks like Sam is back home in Scotland...let's see for how long.
After days of greyness, a day of blinding sunshine can come as quite a shock. You think to yourself...."Why didn't I bring my sunglasses?", before remembering that it's been so long since you used them you wouldn't have been able to find them even if you wanted to ;-)
Today was such a day, in the company of Dalgety Bay Ramblers for their 20th anniversary celebrations. Various walks were laid on for different abilities, and I plumped for a stroll along the coastal path between Aberdour and Pettycur because....oddly.....that is a stretch of the coastal path I'd not done before. It was a leisurely walk with time to kill, and the half hour or so spent sitting drinking coffee at Burntisland Beach was utterly sublime in that sunshine :)
Dalgety Bay Ramblers have walks every weekend, mostly within an hour or so's distance. Newcomers most welcome, and if you want to give 'em a go, upcoming walks include Townhill Loch, Almondell Country Park, Blairadam Forest and the Water of Leith. Details on the Ramblers website :) https://www.ramblers.org.uk/…/gr…/dalgety-bay--district.aspx
